Cheat Day Treats
Work hard, treat hard

Sweat or sweets? If you’ve spent the month sticking to a strict exercise regime, you deserve to treat yourself to the latter. Life can’t be all bench presses and no brownies.

Cheat day is here and you’re ready to trade the Stairmaster for a sundae. Look no further than the Max Brenner menu. The chocolate specialists have not one, but two towering sundaes: a choc fudge brownie sundae and the banana split waffle option – both topped with oozing chocolate sauce. If you prefer your ice cream on a stick, you can’t go past the fantastic popsicle fondue. You’ll be handed two creamy vanilla popsicles and vats of melted chocolate, caramelised pecans and sprinkles ready for dipping.

Hankering for a classic Australian dessert? Hog’s Breath’s new Devilish Desserts menu will get your mouth watering in anticipation. Dig into a delicious lamington ice cream sandwich, sticky date pudding or Aussie mango and passionfruit mess. If you’re going to cheat, do it right.

You’ve just spent an hour absolutely crushing it in the gym – now get a treat to match. KFC’s Krushers – an icy blend of cookies, ice cream and milk – are a tried and tested favourite made for sipping on the run. Choose from Golden Gaytime, ‘kookies n’ kream’ and mint-choc. Sure beats a protein shake.

If you’re the type who skips straight to the sweets, Donut King is king. The classic cinnamon donuts are always a winner, but you can also try four new flavours including bubble gum, Neapolitan and sour grape.

There’s a reason the movie trope of crying into a tub of ice cream persists. Dessert really does make everything better. Begin the healing process with a stack of Degani’s buttermilk pancakes (complete with maple syrup and ice cream), then seal the deal with a hot chocolate, or choose from a range of ice cream frappes.

Cheat day is most fun when you can share the spoils. Rally up a cheat day cohort and head over to Ferguson Plarre, where you can split your choice of cakes, slices and sweet pies. Our favourites? The French vanilla slice, mixed berry cheesecake and lamington sponge. Work hard, eat cake.
