Woodgrove has partnered with QBD The Bookshop to bring you the Woodgrove Book Club.

Each month, new book recommendations will be shared, and we encourage our Woodgrove community to get involved and discuss the books with one another.

For the month of June we have two book recommendations for every age, see below:

The Lavender Keeper by Fiona McIntosh

The Lavender farmer Luc Bonet is raised by a wealthy Jewish family in the foothills of the French Alps. When the Second World War breaks out he joins the French Resistance, leaving behind his family's fortune, their home overrun by soldiers, their lavender fields in disarray.

Such an enjoyable light story. Set in World War II, it brings together the history of war, with the history of France. Beautifully written this is a great read for anyone who wants a good book.

The Monster Who Wasn't by T.C. Shelley

A brilliantly rich and strange fantasy adventure that will make us all believe in monsters - be they good, bad or somewhere in between.
